Days 4-6 – Relaxing Yosemite

Days 4-6 (August 22-24, 2015)

After deep sleep in a motel in Oakdale, we checked our result of Half Dome Hiking lottery and saw we didn’t win. So we immediately filled a new lottery for Monday hiking (with lots of hoping).

August 22: We stayed 3 days at Yosemite National Park. We were there 25 years ago but now we used our time much more for hiking. On first day we still used car to look around. Check-in to Camp Curry was very positive surprise. Tent accommodation where we still had beds with linen and shared restrooms/showers were very clean. Still we had wild taste of life.

August 23: Day started with good news. We’re lottery winners! Rest of the day we visited in some Falls (as Vernal and Nevada Falls). There was also great opportunity for swimming in crystal creek to cool our bodies (these days in Yosemite were very hot). The whole evening we made needed preparations for next day Half Dome hiking.

August 24: Wake-up call on 5am, coffee 6am and straight to trail. It took about 7 hours to visit on the top of half Dome. Water consumption was near 3 liters (we used all we carried). I really won myself (high altitude fear). I really scared on the bottom of the latest slope but seems that everything can be adjusted!

In the late afternoon we jumped to Camaro again and converged on Reno.
